NO SUBSTITUTE

In Phil 4:12 Paul declared that he “learned” the secret (power) of contentment. The fact this was a “learned” discovery tells me that he struggled with NOT being content (envy, jealously, self-pity etc.) Denis Waitley once said, “I had the blues because I had no shoes until upon the street I met a man who had no feet.” The secret (power) Paul cited he learned in v12 is found in v13; “I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength (power).” So today remember the power that dispenses contentment (patience and humility) derives from Christ alone. There areNO substitutes!
