COMFORTER

God said in Isaiah 66:13, “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.” According to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, the Greek word for comfort is parakaleó which means to call to one’s aid, i.e. encouragement, consolation, and exhortation.” We are so bless that God will not only grant His holy and divine presence but He also commands His blessings over our lives despite our sinful nature. In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus said, Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Fact is we are often nearer to God in times of trouble however, we should be thankful that in those times God will call to our aid divine encouragement, consolation, and comfort. So today in times of trouble, uncertainty, or frustration remember what Jesus said in John 14:18, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will……come to you.”
