Having faith in faith or faith in one’s ability is not real faith. True faith is trusting in the revelation of God. As believers we need to seek something that is consistent with God’s Word and trust in God’s omnipotence to provide it. Jesus assures us that a request submitted by faith will be honored, because it honors Him and our Father. Mustard Seed, Mountain-moving faith is activated by a sincere petition to God. Jesus said, “All things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.” The seed Jesus is referring to is metaphorically the Seed that now lives in us. When God’s commands are obeyed He will honor that obedience, and when any request is asked in faith according to His will, He will provide what is sought. To do what God says is to do what God wants and to receive what God promises.
