One thing we must remember is that we are the the ones that go astray. We are the ones that wander away and God is the One that seeks after us. God promises to never leave us nor forsake us (Duet 31:6 and Heb 13:5).
We have all been that one lost sheep that Jesus referred to in the parable written in Matthew 18:12-14. Undoubtedly, He had to leave the 99 behind to find that one.
With that being said, the good news is for those who are still wandering…you are never too far away from God. However the enemy, Satan, wants to keep up further and further away. Satan will try to make you think you are too far away from God’s reach. Not to mention that God will never come after you. Well, he is the father of lies!
God is the God of restoration! He restores us and willingly brings us back to the fold….no questions ask. If you have time today, I invite you to check out the parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32. It’s a great story and it also lines up perfectly with this message!
Friends, God created heaven and earth in SIX days. Therefore, He can change your life in ONE. You’re never too far gone from God’s grace nor God’s reach. I recently shared this statement with my youngest daughter who felt that she was distant from God; “A person can take 10,000 steps away from God, but in reality they’re always 1 step away back home!”
