Seen.Known.Loved

I know for many of us we are dealing with the aftermath clean-up from Hurricane/Tropical Storm Beryl. Lights out, fences down, and trees may have fallen on humble abodes across our region. I get it, great or small we all have been adversely impacted and when disaster hit like this we may have the tendency to feel unseen, misunderstood, or unloved. The pressures of getting life back to normal have a way of leaving us feeling isolated and alone. However, Psalm 139:1-3 reminds us of a profound truth: we are deeply known and loved by God. This Psalm is a part of the final Davidic Psalms collection and it says, “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.”

Undoubtedly, God’s knowledge of us and our current situation is intimate and complete. He sees and knows every aspect of our lives, from our mundane routines to our deepest thoughts and emotions. He understands us in ways that no one else can. This knowledge is not distant or indifferent; it is a loving and caring understanding that encompasses every part of who we are.

Matchlessly, God’s love for us is personal and unconditional. He knows our strengths and weaknesses, our joys and sorrows, and yet, He loves us without reservation. This love is not based on our performance or worthiness but on His nature and grace. When we grasp this truth, it transforms our sense of identity and worth.

My brothers and sisters, as you continue to put the pieces back to normality, I personally invite you to take a few moments each day to reflect on God’s knowledge and love for you. Meditate on Psalm 139 and let its truths sink deep into your heart. As you go about your day, remind yourself that God cares for you and He is a very present help in your time of need. Furthermore, you are seen, known, and loved by the Creator of the universe. This assurance will bring peace and confidence in every circumstance. You see, knowing and reminding ourselves we are fully seen, deeply known, and unconditionally loved by God gives us the strength to face life’s challenges with tenacious hope, courage, confidence, and resilience. Therefore, embrace this truth and let it transform the way you see, know, and love God.

Pray with me:
Abba Father, Thank You for Your unfailing love and intimate knowledge of us. In moments when we feel unseen or unloved, remind us of Your constant presence and care. Help us to rest in the assurance that You know us completely and love us unconditionally. May Your love fill our hearts and overflow into our relationships with others. In Jesus’ never changing name, Amen, Amen, and Amen!
