Isaiah 46:4 reads, “I am your God and will take care of you until you are old and your hair is grey. I made you and will care for you; I will give you help and rescue you.”
This passage of text provides a comforting assurance from God about His unchanging nature and His unwavering commitment to His people. The verse emphasizes God’s lifelong care and sustaining power, highlighting His presence and support from our youth through our old age.
In this verse, God declares that His care extends throughout our entire lives. From our beginnings, He has been with us, and He promises to continue to sustain and rescue us even into our old age. This promise of perpetual care is a testament to God’s faithfulness, grace, mercy, promise, providence, protection, and His intimate involvement in our lives.
My brothers and sisters, God is our lifelong sustenance. As you know, life often presents us with various challenges and transitions—youth, adulthood, and old age each come with their own set of unique burdens. However, through every stage and facet of our lives, God’s assurance remains the same: He is with us, He will carry us, and He will sustain us. This promise should encourage us to trust Him not just in moments of crisis but throughout our entire journey.
