If you are reading this message today, I got good news for you! Kendrick Lamar may say Drake is not like us, but I am here to remind you that God is not like us—He never leaves His work half-done.
God’s word assures us that when He starts something in our lives, He intends to see it through. He is the ultimate finisher, the One who brings everything to its perfect conclusion. We may falter or grow weary, but God remains steadfast. His purposes for us are rooted in His love, and nothing can derail them.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us, “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” This verse is a powerful promise. God’s work in us isn’t random or temporary; it’s ongoing and intentional. Every day, He is shaping us, guiding us, molding us, and working out His purposes, even when we don’t see it.
Sometimes, we might wonder if God has forgotten us, especially during seasons of struggle or waiting. But in Isaiah 46:10, God declares, “My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” His plans are unshakeable, His will unchangeable. We can trust that what He has purposed for us will come to pass, regardless of the challenges we face.
The Psalmist echoes this truth in Psalm 138:8: “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.” Here, we see the assurance of God’s unfailing love. It’s His love that guarantees He won’t abandon the work He’s doing in our lives. Instead, He will bring it to its beautiful, intended completion.
As we walk this journey of faith, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, “the pioneer and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus didn’t just start the work of our salvation; He finished it on the cross. And He continues to work in us, transforming us day by day into His likeness.
Finally my brothers and sisters, let us hold onto the hope found in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” At the end of the day, God’s plans are always good, filled with love, hope, and promise. Even when our path seems unclear, we can trust that God is leading us toward a future that He has already prepared.
I pray that you are encouraged today, knowing that God is faithful to complete the good work He has started in us. We are in His hands, and His purposes for us will be fulfilled in His perfect time.
