In the midst of life’s challenges, it can sometimes feel like God is distant, absent, or silent. Yet, the Bible reminds us that God is never silent. Psalm 50:3 declares that God comes with power and might, His presence unmistakable and His voice commanding. Even when we don’t hear Him in the way we expect, He is actively involved in our lives, often speaking through the circumstances around us or the quiet whispers in our hearts.
God’s voice isn’t always loud or obvious. Often, it’s in the stillness and the quiet that we sense His presence most profoundly. Psalm 46:10 invites us to be still and recognize God’s presence. When we slow down, reflect, and open our hearts, we can hear Him speaking through the scriptures, the actions of others, and through that deep, inner peace that only He can provide.
My brothers and sisters, “God is never silent” is a powerful affirmation of faith. It suggests that, even in times of uncertainty, hardship, or when we feel alone, God is always present, guiding, and profoundly speaking to us in various ways! Look at it this way, no one shouts when they’re right next to you (unless you’re at concert or ball game). So, if you think God is ‘silent’, I invite you to rearrange the letters in that word and ‘listen’ for His voice.
Prayer with me:
Father God, thank You for never leaving us alone. Even when we can’t hear You clearly, help us to trust that You are always near, guiding us with Your wisdom and love. Teach us to be still and attentive to Your voice, especially in the quiet moments. May we always seek to hear Your guidance in all aspects of our lives, knowing that You come with power and presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
