Each name of God reveals a profound truth about His nature and His relationship with us. Through “Jehovah-Raah,” “Jehovah-Hoseenu,” “Jehovah-Eloheenu,” and “Jehovah-Shalom,” we see Him as our loving guide, Creator, Sovereign Ruler, and source of Peace.
Psalm 23:1 declares, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” As Jehovah-Raah, God is the Shepherd who cares for, guides, and protects His sheep. He leads us through both still waters and dark valleys, always ensuring our needs are met and that we are never alone. His love is tender and constant.
When life feels uncertain, remember that Jehovah-Raah is leading you. He knows the way and provides for every need.
Psalm 95:6 says, “Let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” Jehovah-Hoseenu is the One who formed us with purpose and intention. We are His craftsmanship, created in His image. He knows us intimately and has designed us for a life that glorifies Him.
If you ever question your worth or purpose, take comfort in knowing that Jehovah-Hoseenu crafted you with great care and purpose.
In Deuteronomy 6:4, we read, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” Jehovah-Eloheenu speaks of God’s sovereignty and lordship over our lives. He is not only our Creator but also our ruler and King. Submitting to His lordship brings alignment with His will and blessings in our lives.
In moments of decision, seek Jehovah-Eloheenu. His wisdom and authority are perfect, and He leads us in the right way.
Y’all remember when Gideon’s army was dwindled down from 10,000 men (aka kneelers) to a God chosen elite force of 300 alert soldiers (aka lappers)! Well during times of fear, anxiety, distress and uncertainty, Gideon had to called upon Jehovah-Shalom in Judges 6:24, saying, “The Lord is peace.” In a world full of chaos and unrest, Jehovah-Shalom provides a peace that transcends understanding. He calms our hearts and minds, offering a deep inner rest that only He can give.
When fear, anxiety, distress, and uncertainty try to overwhelm you, turn to Jehovah-Shalom. His peace will guard your heart and mind.
Well, my brothers and sisters, this concludes our six part series, but I wanted you to remember that every name of God offers us something powerful, insightful, and wonderful: the guidance of a Shepherd, the purpose from our Maker, the sovereignty of our Lord, and the peace of our Savior. These truths are meant to be lived out daily, providing us with strength, comfort, peace, wisdom, hope, and assurance.
Take a moment to reflect on which aspect of God’s nature you need to embrace today. Trust in His shepherding care, find rest in His peace, and live under His lordship, knowing that He made you for a divine purpose.
Prayer with me:
Jehovah-Raah, guide us through every path we walk. Jehovah-Hoseenu, remind us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Jehovah-Eloheenu, we submit to Your perfect lordship, and Jehovah-Shalom, fill our hearts with Your peace. In all things, we trust in who You are. In Jesus name, Amen and Amen, and Amen
