One of the most powerful truths in our faith is the understanding that we are loved by God. I John 3:1 confirms this scriptural truth and the word of God says, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
Here’s the kicker, God’s love is not earned by anything we do, nor is it diminished by our failures. It is a steadfast, unwavering love that God freely gives. His love is so immense that He calls us His children, and He desires an intimate, personal relationship with each of us.
We can also find assurance in Lamentations 3:22-23, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”.
My brothers and sisters, when life feels overwhelming, or when we fall short of who we are called to be, it’s easy to forget this truth. Yet, God’s love is not dependent on our performance. He doesn’t love us because we are perfect; He loves us because we are His. Here’s an even bigger kicker, His love for us was fully demonstrated when He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins, so that we might live in eternal relationship with Him.
With that being said, I invite you to take a moment out of your busy and hectic schedule to reflect on how deeply you are loved by God. His love isn’t just a concept; it’s real, it’s active, and it’s profoundly present in your life. Whether through answered prayers, unexpected blessings, or the peace that passes understanding in the midst of trials, His love shows up in ways both seen (naturally) and unseen (supernaturally).
Lastly, when we rest in the truth of God’s love, it gives us strength to face the challenges of each day. It gives us a sense of worth that no other relationship or achievement can provide. And it calls us to love others as we have been loved—selflessly, sacrificially, and unconditionally.
Prayer with me:
Thank You, God, for Your perfect love. Even when I feel unworthy, You remind me that I am Your beloved child. Help me to rest in that love today, and to share it with those around me. Let Your love guide my thoughts, actions, and words. In Jesus name, amen!
