God’s glory refers to the manifestation of His divine presence, majesty, and holiness. It is the supernatural radiance of His perfect love, goodness, compassion, character, faithfulness, power, and beauty that inspires worship and awe.
In Exodus 33:18-19 Moses said, “Please, show me Your glory.” And He [God] said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim before you My name ‘The Lord.’”
Moses’ request to see God’s glory came from a deep desire to know God more intimately. He had already seen the Lord’s miracles in Egypt and experienced His presence in the wilderness, yet he longed for more. What Moses asked for wasn’t just a display of power, but the fullness of God’s love, character and goodness. In response, God reveals His name, His compassion, and His faithfulness.
Like Moses, we often find ourselves in moments of longing—longing for a sense of purpose, assurance of God’s presence, or clarity in the midst of chaos. When we ask God to show us His glory, we are not merely seeking signs and wonders but His presence, His goodness, and His love to fill every area of our lives. God is always faithful to reveal Himself to those who seek Him. Jeremiah 29:13 affirms, “You will seek Me and find me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
My beloved brothers and sisters, Sometimes God shows His glory in the stillness, through peace in a storm, or in the gentle reminders of His grace. Therefore, as we go through our day, let us not just look for the extraordinary, but also recognize His glory in the ordinary—the kindness of a stranger, the beauty of creation, or the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. His glory is all around us, waiting to be seen by eyes of faith.
Pray with me:
Abba Father, we echo Moses’ prayer today: Show us Your glory. Reveal Your goodness and compassion to us in the moments of our lives, both big and small. Open our eyes to see You at work, and give us hearts that are sensitive to Your presence. May we experience the depth of Your love and be transformed by the power of Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
