Our worlds (“aka life”) will often birth seasons of pain and challenges that can feel a bit overwhelming. Yet, in those moments, God’s purpose often shines brightest. Sometimes, God will use our deepest pain to launch our greatest calling. Therefore, the wounds we bear become the very tools God uses to shape us and prepare us for something greater. Let’s briefly survey Joseph’s journey. In the book of Genesis we find JoJo aka Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and falsely imprisoned—yes he endured incredible pain and heartache. BUT through it all, GOD was strategically, intentionally, and expeditiously working behind the scenes. Eventually, Joseph rose to a position of great authority, saying to his brothers, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives” (Genesis 50:20).
My brothers and sisters, our deepest pain may feel like an ending, but with God, it can be the beginning of our calling. Whether it’s a personal loss, betrayal, a broken relationship, or a season of struggle, God has the power to redeem those experiences. When we surrender our pain to Him, He transforms it into purpose—equipping us to encourage, comfort, and lead others who walk similar paths. As 2 Corinthians 1:4 reminds us, “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
Pray with me:
Heavenly and Gracious Father, thank You for being a God who redeems our pain and uses it for Your glory and our good. In moments of hurt and confusion, remind us that You are working all things together for good. Help us to trust You in the process and lean into Your presence. Strengthen us to use our trials as testimony, our pain as purpose, and our wounds as a way to reach others. May our lives reflect Your power to transform even the darkest moments into a beautiful calling. Guide us, Lord God, and teach us to follow Your will. In Jesus’ name we pray, believe, and praise. Amen and Amen and Amen!
