Feeling Vs. Truth

Let’s be real—our feelings are loud. No cap, some days they shout, “You’re not enough.” Other days they whisper, “God has forgotten you.” The enemy, the world, and even our own flesh constantly pull at us, urging us to focus on what we feel. And while feelings are real, they aren’t always trustworthy or reliable. That’s why God doesn’t call us to live by emotion—He calls us to live by truth.

Feelings can shift with circumstances, but God’s truth is unchanging and immutable. His Word is a steady anchor in the chaos of emotion. Jesus said in John 8:32, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Not your feelings. Not your mood. The truth. And the truth is this: You are loved. You are chosen. You are forgiven. You are never alone.

When we follow our feelings, we often end up in fear, frustration, aggravation, discouragement, depression, and spiritual fatigue. But when we follow God’s truth, we find peace, direction, and hope. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Even when your heart feels heavy, God’s truth can lift you up. Even when your thoughts are confused, His Word brings clarity.

So today, my beloved brothers and sisters, choose to anchor your soul in what God says—not what you feel. Feelings may fluctuate, but truth remains firm. Isaiah 40:8 declares, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God will stand forever.” Let God’s truth speak louder than your doubts and all worldly distractions. Let it rise above the noise of the enemy. Let it lead you when your emotions try to mislead you.

Pray with me:
Jehovah El Emet, God of trueness and faithfulness, thank You that Your truth is greater than my emotions. Help me not to be led by what I feel, but by what You’ve said. Teach me to discern the lies of the enemy, the world, and my
flesh and to stand on the unshakable foundation of Your Word. When my heart is anxious, remind me of Your peace. When I feel weak, remind me of Your strength. I choose today to walk by faith, not by feelings, and to cling to Your truth above all. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise. Amen.
