Sometimes the hardest thing isn’t believing in God—it’s trusting Him again. Especially when the people who claimed to represent Him are the very ones who hurt you. If that’s you, I see you. And more importantly, God sees you. He’s not intimidated by your doubts or distant because of your pain. He’s near—even now.
You may be on the fence about faith. You may be thinking, “If God is real, why did they treat me like that?” Or “Why did I have to go through what I went through?” The truth is, people can misrepresent God, but they are not God. His character is not defined by their behavior. He is just. He is kind. And He is still giving you breath right now—not to punish you, but to pursue you with love.
Scripture says in Psalm 145:8, “The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.” That’s who He is. Not a God of shame—but a God of second chances. And if you’re reading this, it’s not too late. Maybe the church let you down. Maybe people failed you. But God hasn’t. He’s the one who’s carried you through every valley, even when you didn’t know it.
So today, I’m asking you: give God another chance. Not the version someone misused—but the real, living, loving God who has given you chance after chance. He hasn’t given up on you. He hasn’t stopped loving you. And He never will.
Pray With Me:
Father God,
There are wounds I carry that didn’t come from You, but from people who said they knew You. Heal those places in me. Restore what was distorted. Remind me of who You truly are—gracious, compassionate, and rich in love. Help me to trust You again. Not blindly, but boldly. Thank You for never giving up on me, for walking with me even when I walked away from You. Today, I give You another chance—and I thank You for every chance You’ve already given me. In Jesus’ name I pray, believe, receive, and praise.
Amen.
