You’ve heard it said, “Hurt people hurt people.” And yes, there’s truth in that. Wounded hearts often spill their pain onto others. But today, let’s flip the narrative: Broken people can also rescue broken people.
God doesn’t wait for perfect people to do His perfect work. He uses broken people like you and me to rescue broken people like you and me. That’s the beauty of grace—it doesn’t require polished stories, just willing hearts.
You don’t have to have it all together to make a difference. In fact, it’s your cracks that let His light shine through. Your scars can speak to someone else’s wounds. Your survival can give someone else strength. The pain you didn’t think you’d get through is now the testimony someone else is waiting for.
Paul wrote, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7. We are the jars—fragile, chipped, and ordinary. But the treasure inside us is divine. And that’s what transforms a mess into ministry.
No cap, hurt people can hurt people—but healed people can help people. So don’t disqualify yourself because of your brokenness. God doesn’t. He specializes in using what others would throw away. And even while you’re still in process, your honesty, your survival, and your story can pull someone else back from the edge.
Pray With Me:
Father God, Thank You for using people like me—not despite my brokenness, but through it. Help me to stop hiding the parts of me that hurt, and instead offer them to You as vessels of healing. Let my life be a testimony of Your power, not my perfection. And as You continue to restore me, use me to help restore others. In Jesus’ name I pray, believe, receive, and praise. Amen.
