Let Scripture [Rx] Change You!

We live in a world increasingly drawn to self-made truths and shifting standards. But God’s Word was never meant to be adjusted to suit our comfort. It was meant to challenge, convict, and ultimately transform us. When people attempt to bend Scripture to fit personal preference, they rob it of its divine authority and power to change lives. The Bible is not a cultural suggestion—it is God’s holy standard, written to shape our hearts, not cater to our opinions.

In Hebrews 13:8, the writer—widely believed to be Paul—reminds us: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” That simple yet profound truth anchors us. If Jesus hasn’t changed, neither has His Word. It doesn’t evolve with culture; it remains eternally relevant and immutable. We are not meant to edit it. We are called to live by it.

No cap, scripture is not a menu where we pick and choose what feels right. It is the inspired Word of God, written over the span of approximately 1,500 years,
by more than 40 different authors through faithful men like Moses, David, Isaiah, Matthew, John, and Paul, for the purpose of guiding, correcting, and redeeming us. It doesn’t need to be rewritten; it needs to be re-read—with humility and a heart ready to trust Someone bigger than yourself (aka) obey.

Paul affirms this truth in, 2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT), “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”

So Beloved, let the Word do what it was always intended to do: confront the lies we believe, correct the paths we’ve strayed from, restore our brokenness, and renew our minds. Don’t try to reshape God’s Word to fit your world—allow His Word to reshape you into His image.

Pray With Me:
Father God, thank You for Your unchanging Word. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to make it fit my comfort instead of surrendering to Your truth. Soften my heart, sharpen my ears, and steady my steps as I follow You in obedience. Let Your Word not just inform me, but transform me. In Jesus’ name we pray, believe, receive, and praise. Amen.
