“If the Highest Place I Reach Is at Your Feet!”
Beloved, if the highest place I ever reach is at the feet of Jesus, then I’ve reached everything that matters. In a world that celebrates platforms, titles, influence, and applause, God reminds us that the greatest elevation we will ever experience is found in humility before Him. His feet are where burdens lift, clarity comes, strength is restored, and identity is revealed.
In the Old Testament, the prophet Micah writes in Micah 6:8: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah makes it clear—God isn’t impressed by our accomplishments; He is moved by our surrender. True greatness is not in rising above others but in bowing before Him.
And in the New Testament, Mary of Bethany shows us this posture of devotion. In Luke 10:39, Luke writes that Mary “sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said.” While others were busy, distracted, or striving, Mary chose the one place Jesus said would never be taken from her—His feet. To sit there is to choose intimacy over activity, presence over performance.
So Beloved, if the highest place you ever reach is at His feet, then you’ve reached the very heart of God. Success without surrender is empty, but surrender always leads to fullness. There is no higher calling, no greater peace, and no deeper purpose than being found low before the One who reigns high above all things.
Pray with me:
Father God, if the highest place I ever reach is at Your feet, let me consider my life complete. Teach me humility, deepen my devotion, and draw me closer to You daily. Strip away every desire for earthly elevation and replace it with a longing for Your presence. In Jesus’ name, we pray, believe, receive, and praise. Amen.
