“Release and Rest”
Beloved, there comes a moment when strength is no longer found in holding on — it’s found in letting go. Release what you can’t handle and rest in who God is. God never asked you to carry everything; He asked you to trust Him with everything.
The Old Testament reminds us of this invitation in Psalm 55:22: “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you.” Notice the exchange — we release the weight, and God supplies the support. What overwhelms us does not overwhelm Him.
The New Testament echoes the same call. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Rest is not passive resignation — it is active trust. It is choosing to believe that God is still sovereign when we stop striving.
So Beloved, stop rehearsing what you were never meant to control. Stop gripping what God has already offered to carry. Release the outcome. Release the pressure. Release the fear. And rest — not in circumstances, but in the unchanging character of God.
Because when you rest in who God is, you are no longer ruled by what you can’t handle.
Pray with me: Father God, I release to You what I can no longer carry. Teach me to rest in Your strength, Your wisdom, and Your care. When my heart feels heavy, remind me that You are steady and faithful — in Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance, Amen!
