Not My Will

“Greater Than My Feelings”

Beloved, your feelings are real—but they are not always right. They shift, they rise, they fall. One moment you feel confident, the next uncertain. One day you feel strong, the next overwhelmed. But what you feel in a moment should never outweigh what God has already spoken.

God’s will is greater than your feelings.

In the Old Testament, Isaiah 55:8–9 reminds us, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways… as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” What you feel may be limited to your moment—but God’s will is anchored in eternity.

And in the New Testament, Jesus shows us this truth in Luke 22:42 when He prayed, “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” Even in His humanity, Jesus felt the weight, the pressure, the anguish—but He chose God’s will over His feelings.

We see this tension in real life all the time. You may feel like giving up when things get hard. You may feel like walking away when relationships stretch you. You may feel unqualified when opportunity shows up. In a world driven by emotions—where people are told to “follow your feelings”—God calls us to follow His truth. Because feelings can lead you away… but God’s will will always lead you right.

So when you feel afraid, choose faith. When you feel uncertain, choose trust. When you feel overwhelmed, choose surrender.

You don’t have to deny your feelings—but you can’t let them lead you. Because what you feel is temporary…but God’s will is eternal.

So Beloved, don’t let your emotions override your obedience. God’s plan for your life is too important to be directed by a moment.

Choose His will—even when you don’t feel like it.

Pray with me:Father God, thank You that Your will is greater than what I feel. When my emotions try to lead me away from Your truth, help me to choose You. Give me strength to surrender my feelings and walk in obedience, even when it’s hard. Align my heart with Your will and remind me that Your way is always better— in Jesus name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance, Amen.
