Got a question for you. What’s more important, leading others to Christ or exposing demons? I believe the answer is obvious; leading others to Christ. Why then are so many Christians and church leaders today ‘demon chasers’ and not ‘Gospel sowers’? Perhaps, they’ve forgotten that when one sinner comes to repentance and the knowledge of God that Heaven roars with excitement. I don’t think the bible says the same about exposing demons. I am in no way minimizing spiritual warfare because I know it’s real. Walk with me for an moment to the Gospel of Mathew. In Matthew 13:24-30;vv36-34 we read and then later learn the meaning of the wheat and the tare parable. Watch this, the owner in this parable instructs his servants not uproot the tares; v 30 “Let both grow together until the harvest…” We find out in v 38 the ‘harvest’ means the end of the age. So why wait, why not uproot them now. Let’s bounce back to v 28-29. The servants asked, “Do you want us to go gather them up?” The owner replied, ” No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. At the end of the day, top of the morning, the great commission gives us the authority to expose and cast out demons however; our laser focus should be on making disciples, baptizing, and teaching!
