When I read about what’s going on in the world around me; I feel hurt, angry, and encouraged. I’m reminded everyday that our world is in desperate need of Jesus. People’s lives are being taken senselessly without remorse. Christians are being tortured, beheaded, and falsely imprisoned. Racial and religious tension continues to be an issue within our communities, law enforcement agencies, and in our governments worldwide! Politically, who knows who is really telling the truth? Our present challenges pale in comparison to what some have gone through and/or presently going through. In John 16:33 Jesus said,“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Here’s some more refreshing news; our suffering is not in vain. According to Romans 8:18; “Our present sufferings is not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed.” I am spiritually encouraged because God’s plan for His people by far out weighs the struggles His people is, has, and will endure in this lifetime!
