“Be serious! Be alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. ” (I Peter 5:8) In Exodus 17:9-16 Moses, Joshua, and ancient Israel fought a battle with an enemy they could see however, their victory derived from a God, whom they couldn’t see. Today our enemy is not Amalek; our enemy is Satan, who is active against God’s people in all generations. But, I got good news! The same God that secured their victory back then is the same God who secures our victory today. Moses sat on a rock on a hill and lifted his hands to the Father and when his arms got weak Aaron and Hur was there to help him keep his hands up! Perhaps that’s what God wants us to do as individuals and as His church; despite the odds we face, God is saying lift your hands to me, surrender, focus on praising Me, and don’t worry; I got this! The battles you face in this lifetime is not yours; it’s the Lord’s and He will NEVER lose!
