SIN VS HOLINESS

There is a struggle we battle everyday! The struggle between sin and holiness. Both sin and holiness possess the power of separation. Sin separates us from God’s fellowship and holiness separates us from the world’s ratchet-ness. The truth is that sin, as defined in the original translations of the Bible, means “to miss the mark. “The mark, in this case, is the standard of perfection established by God and evidenced by Jesus not by man. On the other hand, holiness results from a right relationship with God by believing in Jesus Christ as Savior (accepting His gift of eternal life). Yes, we all have missed the mark (Romans 3:23) but the good news is that in Christ we have victory over sin. Jerry bridges said, “As we grow in holiness, we grow in hatred of sin; and God, being infinitely holy, has an infinite hatred of sin.”
