Strong’s Greek 4202 porneía (the root of the English terms “pornography, pornographic”; cf. 4205 /pórnos) which is derived from pernaō, “to sell off”) – properly, a selling off(surrendering) of sexual purity; promiscuity of any (every) type.
#STATS:

•Sex is the Number 1 topic for internet searches.

•2.5 Billion pornographic emails are sent (8% of all emails)

•68 million daily pornographers search engine requested.

•75% internet traffic occurs during 9-5 workday.

•The average age of initial pornography is just 11.

•34% of female readers of Today’s Christian Woman’s online newsletter admitted to intentionally accessing Internet porn in a recent poll and 1 out of every 6 women, including Christians, struggles with an addiction to pornography (Today’s Christian Woman, Fall 2003).

•50% of evangelical pastors admits viewing pornography last year.
#Prayer:

Loving heavenly Father, I am ashamed of my years of addiction to pornography and ask Your forgiveness for allowing this to become such a terrible affliction in my life.. I have hidden this from my friends and family for so long, and the guilt and shame that I am going through is so painful. Lord I don’t want to hurt my family any more and Lord I don’t want to be disobedient to You and so I kneel before you in brokenness of spirit to ask that in Your mercy , You would lift me up out of this terrible pit – into which I have been sliding into for so long.

Father, I have tried different things to stop this addiction, that has become so torturous to me and so dishonouring to You – and I confess Lord that I can’t do this on my own. Help me Lord Jesus. I have tried and failed so many times, but now I come to You in humbleness of spirit to ask Your mercy upon me. Lord I know that in my own strength I will fail each time – but You have promised to be my sufficient strength in every and all situations – I pray that in the power of Your Holy Spirit I would finally and fully break free from pornography and by Your grace I will give you ALL the praise and glory – this I ask in Jesus name, amen!
