The Depth Of Christ’s Love….

If a serial killer or rapist needed a heart transplant would you give up your heart to their life? Ok, that’s a hard one. Would you save an adulterous ex-spouse by donating a kidney or a portion of your liver? Undoubtedly, the answer to both examples would be a resounding heck no!!! Well, Jesus didn’t donate an organ; He gave up His life even though we were of no use to Him. The Message paraphrase nailed in Romans 5:8, “Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.” To a world of sinners, which excludes not one person. All of us have sinned, all of us have fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23) and yet Jesus gave His life in exchange for the death and punishment we deserved. So tell me, who can truly comprehend the depth of Christ’s love for us?? This EASTER weekend FOCUS on the reason why GOD sent His beloved SON to the cross. Yes, sin was the cause but LOVE was the reason (John3:16).
