Are you waiting on God to bless, deliver, and/or establish you? Let’s read Isaiah 64:4 (CSB), “From ancient times no one has heard, no one has listened, no eye has seen any God except You, who acts on behalf of the one who waits for Him.” I have heard it said that when waiting on God to open the doors to our future promise to praise him in the hallway! I love this cliché but it’s easier said than done! I don’t know anyone who likes to wait. Do you? (I didn’t think so). Waiting is hard work and, at times, can even test our faith. It’s especially difficult when there are no guarantees that our waiting will ever end in this lifetime. Desires we long for, prayers we’ve been praying, and news we’re waiting to hear can tempt us to be impatient, discouraged, to worry, and even to wonder if God cares. However, God uses time (waiting) to change our hearts! Ravi Zacharias said, “Time is the brush of God, as he paints his masterpiece on the heart of humanity.” Solomon reminded us in Eccl 3:1-3, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted… a time to break down, and a time to build up.” Let’s be honest? the real issue is not really waiting rather it’s surrendering. When we submit our will to God’s will the missing pieces of our story always fall into their proper places. Prayer is the key to helping us understand God’s divine purpose for our lives in the calendar He has ordained for us to observe. Paul said in I Cor 2:9, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him”, sounds familiar?
