Gratitude is an important Biblical principle. We see this when Jesus was approached by 10 lepers. After they cried out for mercy, He commanded them to âgo and show themselves to the priests.â Before they departed, nothing had happened. But âas they were going, they were cleansed. Luke 17:17-18, âJesus answered and said, âWere there not ten cleansed? But the nineâwhere are they? Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?ââ Out of 10 stood 1 and that 1 Samaritan leper returned to Jesus, He glorified God âwith a loud voice.â Then âhe fell on his faceâ at Jesusâ feet, âgiving thanks to Him.â Look-a-here, God doesnât have to give me, heal me, nor bless me for me to show Him gratitude. I wanna glorify and magnify Him simply because of who He is!! When was the last time you just truly thanked God for being the Lord of your life??
Pray with me:
Father, forgive us all for taking you for granted and for not being grateful for things you have done, things that are still undone, and the things that are yet to come! In Jesus name, amen!
