Open Doors

I know that many of you reading this devotional will agree that as we journey through life, it seems like doors open for us that shouldn’t have and some close that we wish would have stayed open. However, it’s comforting to know, when God opens a door, no one can close it. In fact, no one opens or closes doors outside the will of God!

With that said, today I am reflecting on the door that God has opened. I feel in my spirit that someone needs to hear that God has opened ‘that’ door (you know the one you prayed for). Revelation 3:8 confirms, “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.”

You might ask yourself, “How do I know for sure if that is ‘the’ door that God opened?” Well, the door that God opens will never contradict His word (Isaiah 55:11) and it will always be accompanied by confirmation (Matt 18:15-16). I invite you to take your open door to God and ask for His confirmation – through His word and godly counsel from others – and His peace in the decision, and you’ll find the reassurance that you aren’t just walking through a door at random.

I can humbly submit to you that I don’t know what’s on the other side of that opened door, but one thing I do know is that God’s timing is perfect and when He opens a door, He’ll always provide a path to accomplish His purpose in your life.
