I don’t know what storm or challenges you’re facing in your life right, but I need you work me for a couple of seconds. Right now, I need you to close your eyes, take a deep breath, and hold it for 5 seconds. Ok, now exhale. Next, I need you to mentally step back so that you can see not just the mountain you are facing but the entire range of mountains.
David prompts us in Psalm 121:1-2 to look even higher than the massif to the one who created it and you will find your help there. David equally invites us to remember, “The Lord watches over us.” He is the “shade at our right hand.” He’s as close as our shadow. Like our shadow, He will be with us every step of the way. Glory to God….He doesn’t want us to take even one step alone.
How comforting is that to know, not only can we see God moving from on top of the mountain from the valley, but He is ever-so close to us as our own shadows! Wow, thank you Jesus for being our help, guide, comforter, peace, way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, and counselor in our every day lives and thank You God for being our Sustainer and Redeemer.
