I am a Christ follower, but God knows that I am not close to perfect. He knows I am a work in progress and I am extremely grateful for His unfailing and amazing grace
Like everyone on this planet, I mess up, I stumble, and I fall short of God’s glory everyday (Romans 3:23). But thankfully, God’s grace is bigger than all my faults, mistakes and failures!
That being said, God’s amazing grace doesn’t grant me a license to purposely mess up, stumble, fail, and fall (Romans 6:2). However, it does remind me to be humble and that I am no better than anyone else. It also reminds me to see others through the same ‘grace’ lens God sees me through.
Paul understood this concept very well and after pleading with God 3x times to remove the ‘pride throne’ from his life God responded to his fervent petition in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul followed up in that same passage of text by saying, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” Paul recognized that in order to understand the beauty of God’s Grace, one must first understand the ugliness of their sin.
So today remember there is no sin or past mistakes so great, no bitterness so deep that God’s amazing grace cannot transform the heart and rewrite the story.
