Tiny Faith Moves Big Mountains!

Faith is everything in the life of believers. The bible reminds us in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Faith is what brings everything that we need from God.

Faith causes us to act on what we haven’t experienced yet, to believe promises in the Bible that haven’t been fulfilled yet, and to trust God when our situations haven’t changed yet.

My brothers and sisters, faith is such a powerful gift from God (Ephesians 2:8–9) Christ told His disciples that, with just a tiny measure of it, the size of a mustard seed, they could move mountains (Matthew 17:14-20).

I thought about it this morning and perhaps God accepts our mustard seed size faith because from His vantage point that’s how He sees the challenges we face….as big as a tiny mustard seed. Nothing or no thing is bigger than our God!

The power of faith reflects the omnipotent nature of the God who bestows faith on His own. The mustard seed is one of the tiniest seeds found in the Middle East, so the conclusion is that the amount of faith needed to do great things or to overcome great things is very small indeed. Just as in the parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13:31–32), Jesus uses rhetorical hyperbole to make the point that little is much when it comes from God.
