“Under God’s Feet”
Beloved, there are seasons in life when situations feel bigger than us. The pressure rises, the weight grows heavier, and suddenly the problems we face feel far beyond what we can handle. Sometimes the burden feels overwhelming. The diagnosis feels too heavy, the grief feels too deep, the financial pressure feels too intense, and the uncertainty feels too great. If we are honest, there are moments when life feels completely over our heads.
But take heart. If it’s over your head, it is still under God’s feet.
What overwhelms you does not overwhelm Him. What surprises you does not surprise Him. What feels impossible to you is still fully under His authority. The things that keep you awake at night have never caused God to lose sleep. The burdens that feel unbearable in your hands are never too heavy for His.
In the Old Testament, Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” God sees what we cannot see, understands what we cannot understand, and works in ways we cannot always comprehend.
Likewise, in the New Testament, Ephesians 1:22 says, “And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything.” All things means all things. Not some things. Not easy things only. All things. That means your storm is under His feet. Your struggle is under His feet. Your unanswered questions are under His feet. Your fear is under His feet. Even the thing causing you the greatest stress today remains under His authority.
The beautiful truth is this: God has never faced a situation beyond His power. He has never encountered a problem too complex, a burden too heavy, or a mountain too high. There has never been a battle He could not win or a circumstance He could not turn around for His glory.
So when life feels overwhelming, do not measure God against your problem. Measure your problem against your God. The same God who parted seas, brought down walls, raised the dead, and calmed storms is the same God holding you today.
So breathe. Trust Him. Release what you cannot control into the hands of the One who controls all things. Because if it’s over your head, it has never been over His.
Pray with me: Father God, when life feels overwhelming and the weight feels too heavy to carry, remind me that nothing is beyond Your power. Help me trust You with every burden, every fear, and every unanswered question. Strengthen my faith when I feel weak, calm my heart when anxiety rises, and teach me to rest in Your sovereignty. Thank You for being greater than every challenge I face and for holding all things under Your authority. In Jesus name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance, Amen.
