Make It Make Sense
Beloved, have you ever looked at your life and wondered, “God, how does any of this make sense?” The disappointment didn’t make sense. The delay didn’t make sense. The closed door didn’t make sense. You prayed, you trusted, you tried to do the right thing—and somehow you still ended up in a place you never expected to be.
But hear this today: God is getting ready to make sense of it all.
There are chapters of your life that will never make sense when you read them by themselves. Sometimes you have to keep turning the pages before you understand why God allowed that chapter to be written.
In the Old Testament, Joseph understood this. He was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned. For years, nothing about his circumstances seemed to match the dream God had given him. But eventually Joseph could look back and declare in Genesis 50:20, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.”
What looked like rejection was actually redirection. What looked like a setback was positioning. What looked like God had forgotten Joseph was actually God preparing him.
And the New Testament reminds us in Romans 8:28 that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Notice Scripture doesn’t say all things are good. Some things hurt. Some things break our hearts. Some things we may never fully understand on this side of eternity. But God promises that He can work through all things for good.
So don’t judge your entire story by the chapter you’re in right now.
That closed door may eventually make sense. That delay may eventually make sense. Even some of the tears you’ve cried may look different when you see what God was doing behind the scenes.
You don’t have to understand everything today to trust the One who already sees tomorrow.
God is still connecting the pieces. He’s still writing your story. And in His perfect time, what looks confusing today may become part of the testimony you tell tomorrow.
Pray with me: Father God, when I cannot understand what You are doing, help me trust who You are. Take every disappointment, delay, heartbreak, and unanswered question and use it according to Your purpose. Give me faith to keep walking when the pieces don’t seem to fit. I believe You are still working, still directing, and still writing my story. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance. Amen.
