Rock Bottom?

“You Don’t Belong at Rock Bottom”

Beloved, there are seasons in life where circumstances try to convince you that where you are is where you’re meant to stay. Pressure builds, doors close, and setbacks pile up until it feels like you’ve reached the lowest place possible. In those moments, it’s easy to believe the lie that the bottom is your portion—but that has never been God’s design for you.

In the Old Testament, Deuteronomy 28:13 reminds us that “the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not beneath.” This is not just a promise of position—it is a declaration of identity. God did not create you to remain beneath fear, beneath failure, or beneath the weight of your past. Even when life places you in low places, His intention is always to bring you through them, not leave you in them.

The New Testament reinforces this truth in Romans 8:37, where we are told that “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Notice that Scripture doesn’t deny the reality of hardship—it acknowledges it. But it also reveals that your story does not end in defeat. Through Christ, you are not just surviving your circumstances—you are overcoming them.

No cap, the bottom may be where you are right now, but it is not where you belong. What feels like a place of limitation is often a place of preparation. God uses low places to build strength, develop character, and deepen dependence on Him. What the enemy intends to use to keep you down, God uses as a foundation to lift you up.

So Beloved, don’t settle in a place that was only meant to shape you. Don’t build permanence in a temporary process. Lift your eyes, anchor your faith, and trust that God is still working—even here. Because when God is involved, the bottom is never the end of your story—it is the beginning of your rise.

The bottom may be where you are, but it is not where you belong.

Pray with me: Father God, thank You that my life is not defined by the low places I experience but by the promises You have spoken over me. Help me to trust You in every season and to remember that where I am is not where I will remain. Strengthen my faith, renew my hope, and guide me as I rise into all that You have called me to be. In Jesus name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance, Amen!
