Fix Me. Protect Me.

Beloved, it’s easy to ask God for protection when life feels unfair. But maturity in faith means also asking for correction when we are part of the problem. A sincere prayer is this: God, fix me when I am the problem — and protect me when I am not.

The Old Testament gives us the posture of this prayer in Psalm 139:23–24: “Search me, O God, and know my heart… see if there is any offensive way in me.” David didn’t just ask for rescue — he asked for refinement.

The New Testament echoes this balance. In James 1:5, we’re invited to ask God for wisdom — not just deliverance. Wisdom reveals what needs changing in us, while grace guards us from what isn’t ours to carry.

The reality is this: growth requires honesty. Sometimes the breakthrough comes through protection; sometimes through correction.

So Beloved, don’t fear God’s fixing hand. It shapes what protection preserves. Because the same God who shields you from harm also heals what harms you.
