God Is Never Late

God Is Never Late. We’re Just Impatient.

Beloved, one of the hardest lessons of faith is learning to trust God’s timing instead of demanding our own. We often mistake God’s delay for God’s denial, but they are not the same. What feels like waiting to us is often God preparing, protecting, and positioning us for something greater than we can currently see.

The truth is, God is never late. We’re just impatient.

In the Old Testament, Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Notice the Scripture doesn’t say our time—it says His time. God works according to His perfect wisdom, not our preferred schedule. He sees the beginning and the end, while we only see the moment we’re standing in.

Likewise, in the New Testament, 2 Peter 3:9 declares, “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you…” What we call delay, God often calls mercy. What we call waiting, God often calls preparation. He is never behind schedule because He has never lost control.

Think about Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Ruth, Hannah, David, Esther, Daniel, Nehemiah, Elijah, Elisha, Job, Mary, Martha, Peter, Paul, Lazarus, and the disciples. In every story, it appeared that God had waited too long. Yet when He moved, His timing revealed a greater purpose than anyone could have imagined. God specializes in arriving at the perfect moment—not a moment too early and never a moment too late.

So if you’re waiting today, don’t let impatience rob you of peace. Trust the God who has never broken a promise. Every closed door, every unanswered prayer, and every season of waiting is still under His sovereign hand. His clock has not stopped, and His plan for your life has not changed.

Pray with me: Father God, forgive me for the times I become impatient while waiting on You. Help me to trust Your timing even when I cannot understand Your process. Strengthen my faith to believe that You are working behind the scenes, preparing what is best for my life. Teach me to wait with peace, hope, and confidence, knowing that You are never late and Your promises never fail. In Jesus name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance, Amen.
