It Cost Jesus Everything?

SALVATION COST YOU NOTHING—BUT IT COST JESUS EVERYTHING

Beloved, salvation is the greatest gift you will ever receive, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to earn it. You can’t buy it. You can’t work enough to deserve it. You can’t become good enough to qualify for it. Salvation is a gift of grace.

Isaiah 53:5 says, “He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities.” Long before Calvary, Scripture pointed toward the price that would be paid for our redemption.

Then Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…not by works.”

Salvation may be free to us, but it was not cheap.

It cost Jesus betrayal. It cost Him rejection. It cost Him humiliation. It cost Him the scourging, the nails, the cross—and ultimately, His life.

We brought nothing to Calvary except our sin, and Jesus provided everything necessary for our salvation.

That’s grace.

And 1 Peter 1:18–19 says we were redeemed not with silver or gold, but with “the precious blood of Christ.”

So never confuse free with worthless. The gift costs you nothing to earn because Jesus already paid the price in full.

When you remember what salvation cost Him, worship changes. Gratitude changes. The way you live changes.

The cross reminds us just how serious our sin is—but it also reveals just how extraordinary His love is.

So today, don’t just thank Jesus for what He has given you.

Thank Him for what it cost Him to give it.

Pray with me: Father God, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. I could never earn it and could never repay it. Thank You, Jesus, for taking my place and paying the price for my sin. Help me never take Your grace for granted, but to live every day grateful for the cross. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance. Amen.

Salvation cost you nothing to earn—but it cost Jesus everything to provide.
