TEST IT—DON’T JUST TRUST IT

Beloved, we are living in a time when answers are everywhere. Search engines can answer us. Social media can advise us. Artificial intelligence can generate information almost instantly. And yes, these tools can be useful—but none of them is the Holy Spirit.

Paul writes in Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Notice Paul says test it and not prompt it in ChatGPT. 

Biblical discernment isn’t accepting something simply because it sounds intelligent, inspirational, popular—or even spiritual. We test what we’re hearing against the Word of God.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, “Test everything; hold fast what is good.”

That includes what your friends tell you. What a preacher tells you. What social media tells you. And yes—even what AI tells you.

Technology can provide information, but it cannot replace revelation. AI can analyze Scripture, but it cannot become your relationship with the Author of Scripture. It can give you an answer, but God’s Word remains the authority by which that answer should be tested.

So use the tools—but don’t worship the tools. Read the Word. Pray. Seek godly wisdom. Listen for the Holy Spirit’s leading. And test what you hear against Scripture.

Because the goal isn’t simply to have more information. It’s to know God’s will.

Pray with me: Father God, renew my mind and give me discernment. Teach me not to accept everything I hear simply because it sounds convincing. Help me test everything against Your Word, hold tightly to what is good, and reject what contradicts Your truth. Above every other voice, teach me to recognize and obey Yours. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance. Amen.

Use the technology. Test the message. Trust God.
