He Meets Us!

JESUS MEETS US IN OUR MESS

Beloved, Jesus does not wait for us to get everything together before He comes near. He meets us in the confusion, the regret, the exhaustion, the disappointment, and the parts of life we wish looked different.

That’s what makes His invitation so powerful. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

He doesn’t say, “Fix yourself, then come.” He says, “Come.”

Come tired. Come overwhelmed. Come ashamed. Come confused. Come carrying the weight you were never meant to carry alone.

Beloved, some of us keep trying to clean up the mess before approaching God, but grace works the other way around. We come to Jesus in the mess, and He begins the work in us.

Think about how Jesus lived. He sat with sinners. He touched people others avoided. He restored the broken. He welcomed the rejected. He didn’t move away from messy people. He moved toward them. And He still does.

Maybe your life doesn’t feel peaceful right now. Maybe your mind is crowded, your heart is heavy, and your circumstances are complicated. Jesus is not intimidated by any of it.

Psalm 34:18 says, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

That means your broken place can become a meeting place. You don’t have to pretend with God. You don’t have to perform for Him. You don’t have to prove you’re worthy of His attention.

Just come. Because Jesus doesn’t only meet us in our mess. He invites us to find rest in Him.

Pray with me: Father God, thank You for meeting me where I am. When life feels messy, heavy, or overwhelming, remind me that I can come to Jesus just as I am. Help me release what I’ve been carrying and find true rest in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance. Amen.

JESUS MEETS US IN OUR MESS AND INVITES US TO FIND REST IN HIM.
