I’M NOTHING WITHOUT GOD

Beloved, the older I get, the more I realize this truth: I’m nothing without God. Whatever strength I have, whatever wisdom I’ve gained, whatever doors have opened, whatever good has come from my life—it all traces back to His grace.

Jesus said in John 15:5, “Apart from me you can do nothing.” That verse keeps me humble because it reminds me that I am not self-made. I am God-sustained.

I may have worked hard, but God gave me the strength to work. I may have made wise decisions, but God gave me the mind to think. I may have walked through open doors, but God was the One who made the way.

Even my next breath is a gift.

Acts 17:28 says, “For in him we live and move and have our being.” Everything about my existence depends on Him.

So when life is going well, I don’t want success to convince me that I don’t need God. And when life gets difficult, I don’t want trouble to make me forget that God is still enough.

Ecclesiastes 7:13-14 says, “Consider the work of God: Who can straighten what He has bent? In the day of prosperity, be joyful, but in the day of adversity, consider this: God has made one of these along with the other, so that a man cannot discover anything that will come after him.

Beloved, humility isn’t thinking less of yourself. It’s remembering that without God, there is no strength, no purpose, no salvation, no tomorrow.

That’s why I can’t take the glory for what God has done in my life.

If I’m standing, He held me up. If I survived, He carried me through. If I’ve grown, His grace developed me. If there is anything good in me, God deserves the glory.

Pray with me: Father God, never let me forget how completely I depend on You. Keep me humble when I succeed, faithful when I struggle, and grateful in every season. Everything I am and everything I have comes from Your grace. Apart from You, I can do nothing. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance. Amen.
