Choose A Side!

YOU CAN’T WALK WITH JESUS AND THE WORLD

Beloved, you can’t walk with Jesus and the world at the same time. They’re going in two different directions.

Jesus never called us simply to admire Him. He called us to follow Him. And following Jesus means there will be moments when the direction He leads you is completely opposite from where the world is going.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:13–14, “Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction… But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life.”

Notice—two roads. Two directions. Two destinations.

The world says, “Follow your feelings.” Jesus says, “Follow Me.” The world says, “Live for yourself.” Jesus teaches us to deny ourselves. The world says, “Get even.” Jesus says, forgive. The world says, “Do whatever makes you happy.” Jesus calls us to do what honors God.

And eventually, we have to choose a direction.

1 John 2:15 says, “Do not love the world or anything in the world.” That doesn’t mean we stop loving people. Jesus loved people enough to die for them. It means we cannot embrace a worldly system that pulls our hearts away from God.

Beloved, following Jesus may cost you some relationships. It may change what you watch, where you go, what you tolerate, and even what you desire. Grace saves us where we are, but Jesus loves us too much to leave us walking in the same direction.

So ask yourself today: Which direction am I actually walking?

Because saying you follow Jesus means more than wearing His name.

It means walking His way.

Pray with me: Father God, examine my heart and show me anything pulling me away from You. Give me courage to choose Your way even when the world is moving in the opposite direction. Help me follow Jesus faithfully, not only with my words but with my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance. Amen.

YOU CAN’T WALK WITH JESUS AND THE WORLD.

They’re going in two different directions.
