Walking In God’s Power!

In order to walk in God’s power we must first believe in God’s power. There are 5 inhibitors that prevents us from walking in God’s power. Sin (James 5:16), ignorance (Hosea 4:6), unbelief (Romans 14:23), fear (2Tim 1:7-8), and prayerlessness (Eph 6:18). You don’t have to let these stumbling blocks keep you from living the abundant life God called you to live in Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. God is super transparent and there are no secrets to walking in His power and authority. All we have to do is repent, read, believe, trust, pray, and let His Spirit have His way! The Holy Spirit is the power source of our Christian lives. As we trust Jesus Christ, God’s Spirit will produce His character within us and them propel us into God’s power, authority, and strength!

God Will Never Spoil Us!

“In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed! So don’t feel sorry for yourselves. Or have you forgotten how good parents treat children, and that God regards you as his children? My dear child, don’t shrug off God’s discipline, but don’t be crushed by it either. It’s the child he loves that he disciplines; the child he embraces, he also corrects. God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training, the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God? We respect our own parents for training and not spoiling us, so why not embrace God’s training so we can truly live? While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God’s holy best. At the time, discipline isn’t much fun. It always feels like it’s going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it’s the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:11‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Faith Compliments Hope

Dale Carnegie said, “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” In order to perfect hope it must be accompanied by an action. There is no accomplishment without action. Those who wait for something to happen are always waiting. Hoping for your desired outcome may be uplifting, but without action, it’s ineffectual. Hebrews 11:1 says hope is the substance of our faith and James 2:26 says faith without works is dead. In other words, without faith, there is no hope, and without hope there is no true faith. So if your are not working towards whatever it is your hoping for it might never come to fruition.

What’s Ahead?!!

Is God serious? When things go bad and life sucks the wind out of lungs we have to be joyful?! Well, yes and yes!! At times, life can be inconvienient, difficult, stressful, and extremely painful. Unfortunately, in times of stretching our faith reflects externally how we respond to our challenges internally. In other words, our faith in God’s divine direction depletes the moment unexpected struggle hit us. However, Paul reminds us in I Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Be joyful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.” Our God is Eternal, He is the God who is always there – morning, noon and night and if this message is speaking to your situation remember no matter what happens God is the same God in the good times as well as the not so good times. He never changes nor will He ever leave you nor forget you! He loves you more than you could ever imagine so if your stuck between a rock and a hard place keep pressing forward because your greatest blessing is never behind you nor underneath you rather it’s always in front of you!

Dusting Time!!

Everyone has a gift and everyone should use their God giving gifts to advance the kingdom. God has given you time, strength, courage, boldness, and stamina to do so. Paul instructed Timothy, a young Brother to the ministry in his first letter in chapter 4 verse 12, “Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use.” Having said that, if Paul is speaking to you also, climb into the attics of your hearts and dust off those gifts and get in the game of advancing God’s kingdom today!! Remember, you too are a living epistles; what do you plan to write today?

In Your Darkest Moment……God!

You can never disappoint God! God knows the good and the not so good in our lives. Romans 5:8 rings the alarm, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Beloved of God, if God would die for us in our darkest moments and who were enemies because of sin, what more would He do for us when we face the trouble of life and when we miss the mark of His Higher call?! God is there for us in His love, grace and mercy! There is nothing He wouldn’t do for us and nothing could ever extinguish His great love for all of us! Can I get a witness and amen?!!

God Ain’t Done With You!!

There are so many things that demand our attention and while it may be good to leave behind unhealthy relationships, jobs, and habits, it’s also important to keep fighting for what is good and right. Fight for marriage, fight for your kids, fight for your health – don’t give up! 2 Chronicles 15:7 says, “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” Yes, we all get tired of the minutia but God commanded us to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9), not to become weary in doing good (Gal 6:9), turn your concerns over to Him (Matt 11:28), and remember that His plans are far more greater (Jeremiah 29:11). Therefore, I urge and encourage you to keep on keeping on! God got you and He is good and his mercies endures forever. Lastly, I don’t care what the enemy says if you’re still breathing, your story isn’t over yet and God got more work for you to do!!

God Can’t Fail!

Never say never when it comes to what God can do.

In fact the only thing God can’t do is fail! Amos 4:13 says, “He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind, and who reveals His thoughts to mankind, who turns dawn to darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth – the Lord God Almighty is His name.” Yes, we have limitations but God doesn’t! He is acutely aware of our limitations that’s why He never intended for us to live under the pressure of everything depending on us. It’s only when we lean on Him instead of ourselves that we experience supernatural strength and provision. So today reflect on the wisdom of Amos 4:13 and meditate on God’s greatness. If the Lord can do all this, surely He can equip us with whatever we need to accomplish His will, plan and purpose for our lives!

Prayer Is Your Weapon!

Martin Luther said, “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” There is nothing more powerful than a praying faith believing Christian and as such we should never should not underestimate the power of prayer. James 5:16-18 declares, “…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.” Praying is communicating with God. Simply put, prayer is talking to God. Prayer is the weapon that “have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”- 2 Corinthians 10: 4-5. Look at it this way, prayer is the key that unlocks and activates God’s power, peace and provisions in our lives. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” So the question is not what you got in your wallet rather who are you speaking to in your prayer room! Do you really believe in the power of prayer? Max Lucado said, “Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.”

You’re Net Worth!

You are worth more to God than you’ll ever know. Psalm 139:17-18 says, “How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!” The true appraised value of our net worth is not defined by our bank accounts, job title, or our status on social media. Our net worth can only be defined by the light reflected from the cross on Calvary’s Hill! Isn’t it amazing that God clearly demonstrates our value throughout the Bible. Just imagine anything on this earth that we value, and it’s incomparable to how God feels about us. So lets remember how much we are of value in God’s eyes! And remember to be kind and loving to all the people in this world because of what Jesus has done for us, and the great worth He has place on us all. Isaiah 43:4a says, “… you are precious in my eyes … and I love you.”
