He Wasn’t Surprised

“He Wasn’t Surprised”

Beloved, there are moments when you feel like you’ve failed God. You look at your decisions, your missteps, your struggles—and you wonder if you’ve let Him down.

But here’s the truth: You can’t take God by surprise.

Nothing about your life is unexpected to Him. Not your past. Not your struggles. Not even the moments you wish you could undo. God saw it all—and still chose you, still called you, still loves you.

In the Old Testament, Psalm 139:1–2 says, “O Lord, You have searched me and known me… You understand my thoughts from afar.” Before you ever acted, God already knew.

And in the New Testament, Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” He didn’t wait for perfection—He moved knowing everything.

We see this in real life. We replay mistakes, carry guilt, and think, “I should’ve done better.” And while conviction can lead us back to God, shame tries to push us away from Him.

But God is not reacting to your life—He already accounted for it.

Your failure didn’t catch Him off guard. Your struggle didn’t cancel your calling. Your weakness didn’t change His love.

So while you may feel like you’ve disappointed God…
God is saying, “I already knew—and I’m still here.” Because His grace isn’t based on your surprises, it’s based on His sovereignty.

At the end of the day Beloved, don’t run from God because of what He already saw. Run to Him. Because the God who knew everything about you still chose to love you fully, completely, and wholly!

Pray with me: Father God, thank You that nothing in my life takes You by surprise. Even in my failures, You remain faithful. Help me to release guilt and draw closer to You instead of pulling away. Remind me that Your love is not based on my perfection, but on Your grace. Strengthen me to walk forward in truth, knowing You are still with me— in Jesus name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance, Amen.
