“You Can’t Bite Water”
Beloved, some battles cannot be fought with force, effort, or intensity. No matter how sharp your teeth are, you can’t bite water. The harder you try to grasp it, the more it slips away.
The Old Testament reminds us of this truth in Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Strength is not always found in striving. Sometimes it is found in surrender. Not every situation is meant to be controlled — some are meant to be entrusted to God.
The New Testament echoes this wisdom in James 1:20: “Human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” When we try to force outcomes through frustration or sheer effort, we often find ourselves fighting battles that cannot be won that way.
The reality is this: not every challenge is meant to be conquered by pressure. Some are meant to be handled with patience, wisdom, and trust.
So Beloved, when life presents something that cannot be forced, stop biting the water. Release control and let God guide the current.
Because sometimes the greatest strength is knowing when to stop striving.
Pray with me: Father God, teach me to recognize when effort must give way to trust. Help me release the things I cannot control and rest in Your wisdom and timing — in Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance, Amen!
