Letting Go To Move Forward!

Are you feeling stuck in life? Many people do. Sometimes we get so stressed out that it feels as if we simply cannot move on with our life. Feeling stuck in life can seem as if you’re not moving forward, even when you move. Life happens and the fact of life at some point we will all experience some kind of heart ache and/or pain. Yes, it hurts but the hurt only hurts to remind us that we are human. The second sentence is Psalm 30:5 says, “Weeping may stay overnight, but there is joy in the morning.” E.M. Forester said, “We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” I get it, letting go is hard but Paul reminded us in 2 Corinthians 4:17, “That our light and temporary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles!” At the end of the day you must realize, the only one that is holding you back is yourself. Do not fall prey to the mistake of focusing all your attention on people, problems, and pain. Instead focus and direct your energy on God’s provisions, promises, and power! The chains that binds you to the past are broken once you can look past the stress, pain, and regret!

Salvation is intended for Everyone!

Romans 10:12 confirms, “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him…” In other words, we serve an impartial God. Therefore, Jesus’ message of grace, hope, and salvation is for everyone; His promises are for everyone; His kingdom is for everyone who believes. Titus 2:11 reminds us, “The grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.” God doesn’t play favorites; it doesn’t matter your ethnicity nor background (Acts 10:34) God loves you, Jesus wants to save you, and the Holy Spirit wants to work in and through you!

Let God Lead!

Sometimes when we experience difficulties in life all we want to do is ‘fix it’ or ‘get through it’ as quickly as possible. In these moments, I am reminded of a chorus in a hymn written by Larnelle Harris, “It’s not in trying but in trusting. It’s not in running but in resting. It’s not in wondering but in praying that we find the strength of the Lord.” Trusting, resting, and praying are the pillars that will sustain us through the various storms and trials that we often endure! I have learn, the futility of striving so often leaves me frustrated, exhausted, and hopeless but thank God, His Holy Spirit steps into my situation(s) only to console, encourage, and assure me that I can and will find strength in the Lord when I let Him lead! The strength we need for daily living is only found in the Lord; not in no one or nothing else! Jesus said He would never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) and the last time I checked never means never!

No One Else Could Do It!

God did something for you that no one on the face of this earth has or could ever do! He paid the highest price for your salvation! He selflessly laid down His perfect sinless life to save us from the intense furious flames of hell. He did all of this even before you were a twinkle in your daddy’s eyes!! Imagine you are a slave and you were bought at an auction. Shortly after the purchase the person unshackled you and said you are free to go! How would you feel?? Romans 6:17 says, “We were once slaves of sin” and Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life is in Christ Jesus.” If we are in Christ than we are not our own. I Cor 6:20 reminds us that we were bought at price and trust me the currency used in this transaction was bruised, mutilated, humiliated, wounded, mocked, abandoned, and died on a cross but rose from the grave so that we could reign in eternity with the Trinity! Whether you acknowledge Christ or not He died for you anyway! Redemption is not salvation. Therefore, in order receive your gift of salvation you have to believe and confess that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Jesus’s blood conquered the power of sin and death and his death victoriously liberates us sinners from sin and disarms the power of the devil. Again, both of these truths become apparent when those for whom Jesus died respond to his saving work in faith and obedience.

I rejoice and praise You O’God despite my sin, shortcomings, and imperfections because I know the work you began in me, You and only You will bring it to perfect completion until TRIUMPHANT return of my Savior…HALLELUJAH, in Jesus’ matchless, and forever righteous and it is already done name, amen, amen, and amen!!

Dispensing Grace

Unfortunately, I got rear-ended last night on my way home. The driver of the vehicle said he was sorry but he dozed off. When I inspected the damage of my vehicle it appeared to be very minor but the damage to his vehicle was a tad bit more severe.

I could tell by the look on his face that he was not having a good run. He mentioned that he was driving his niece car because his vehicle was in the shop.

Of course we exchange information but due to the extent of damage and his accountability for his mistake we didn’t involved a peace officer.

I called my wife and explained what happened and I told I didn’t think it was necessary to file a claim but I wanted her to look at the vehicle when I made it home.

As I continued driving home, the Lord put it on my heart to forgo filing the claim but I certainly desired my wife to be in the same page….so I said to God, I hope she feels the same way😊.

After my wife inspected the vehicle she agreed and said that she would use a magic eraser to buff out the smudges.

This morning, I used the magic eraser and the smudges wiped right off. Now there is a small imperfection but it was too infinitesimal to file a claim as I was more concerned about Mr. Small repairing his niece’s vehicle.

My point is don’t let small altercations caused a volcanic eruption! I was an extender of grace in this situation and when I called Mr. Smalls to let him know that I wasn’t going to pursue this any further he paused and said,” Are you sure??” I said to him, “The Lord Put it on my heart not to file a claim so God bless you.” In a noticeable sign of relief he said,”Man, they’re not many men like you left in this world; thank you and again I’m sorry that the accident happened…..thank you!!”

It’s a good feeling to be extending grace and not always asking God for his grace for the wrong I do….everyday!!

Builder On The Move!

In 2009 America’s Home Place came to Texas to help those along the Gulf Coast recover after Hurricane Ike.

“What brought America’s Home Place into Texas was Hurricane Ike,” General Manager Lowell Pinnock said. “For six years they helped rebuild the lives of many victims after the disaster.”

While building the disaster recovery homes, the company noticed the need to expand their build on your lot program to the Texas Region. As it turned out, that is what America’s Home Place specialized in for the last 46 years.

America’s Home Place is excited to announce that they are moving to Alvin in the coming weeks to help potential homeowners design and build their new forever home!

The custom home builder is in the process of finishing up their new, state of the art, showroom in Alvin, or as Lowell Pinnock calls it, a “home within a showroom/building center.”

The new Alvin office will replace the company’s longtime office in Galveston as the company moves to make it more convenient for potential homeowners to visit their showroom/building center and to better geographical position itself from a jobsite management standpoint.

“We are a custom home builder,” Pinnock said. “Ideally, we take our plans and customize them to fit the needs and lifestyle for each of our home owners. We do not build two homes that are the same.”

While building homes along the Gulf Coast, one thing America’s Home Place noticed is more and more of the customers were from the Alvin area. Therefore, America’s Home Place decided to make a move, building its new showroom/building center in the heart of Alvin.

“Alvin was the hub, the heart,” Pinnock said. “Our customers were already here. This is where the homeowners are, so it made perfect sense to make it more convenient for them to come to us.”

What they are building in Alvin is much more than just an office. It’s a “home within a showroom” and it will allow customers to see everything America’s Home Place can do in one convenient location.

The showroom/building center is really a home. The offices are built to showcase the different exterior elevations the company offers; there will be a full kitchen/dining  space, open floor plan layout, a master bedroom suite, and a variety of interior selections.

“This will be a village of homes when you walk in,” Pinnock said. “It gives the customer an opportunity to see exactly how we build our homes on their respective home sites.”

While there is a lot of new home construction going on in the region, America’s Home Place has found its own niche. As a custom home builder, America’s Home Place is for people who already own land, in the market to find land and are seeking to build the home of their dreams.

The company has a parade of tried and true floor plans to choose from and can then customize every aspect to meet the customer’s needs.

Pinnock said a few things that set America’s Home Place apart happens even before the initial dirt is ever moved. The first step to building your new home is designing it to fit your lifestyle and budget. Through a series of questions, your Building Consultant will help you determine which floor plan best suits your unique needs. Now that you have the perfect plan, your Building Consultant will help you add all the special touches that make your home uniquely yours. Hardwood floors, granite counter tops, fireplaces with stacked stone, brick, or granite, can all be added at this point. At America’s Home Place, it’s one stop shopping. You’ll find everything you need to make your house your home right here in our Design Gallery. When all the special touches have been added and the site improvements have been estimated, your Building Consultant will give you the final cost to build your new home. So you love the plan and you love the price. You sign the agreements and our teams go to work making your dream home a reality! Meet with our Project Manager at your site to position your home and determine site preparation costs. Then you’ll have a final meeting to cross the t’s and dot the i’s before we begin construction. From site preparation, foundation, and framing through mechanicals, interior and exterior finishes, every step is quality-assured by your Project Manager.

“Our standard features set us apart,” Pinnock said. “Granite in the kitchen and bathrooms, Comfort height cabinets in master bedroom, 9’ ceilings, 5” gutters, a variety of cabinet styles, frameless glass shower doors, plus many other features other builders consider upgrades. On average, when it comes down to fit and finish selections, most of our homeowners are only upgrading their flooring selections,” Pinnock said.

“Our goal as a builder is to build it right on paper before we ever start building it in the field,” Pinnock said. “This affords us the opportunity to minimize frustration and unnecessary construction delays.” That attention in advance also pays off in one other way — the homes are usually built from start to finish more efficiently as it relates to quality and time! “Speed is our weapon, but we don’t sacrifice quality for time,” he said.

One way America’s Home Place can get homes built quickly and properly is by using the best contractors around. Each one is hand selected for being among the best and being safe and efficient. In fact, every person working on a home is held to three core beliefs in the company. When building someone’s home, the job site will be clean, workers will be safe and all inspections will be conducted for quality, not completion.

Pinnock said America’s Home Place takes those steps because they view customers as more than someone who hired them. “Every project is a family, not a project,” he said. “They’re more than just customers, they’re family. We connect with each of our home owners on deeper level.” Because America’s Home Place looks at every customer as a family, they also want to take the time to ensure the needs of the customer come before the wants of the business.

“Most people are leery of coming in to discuss their vision because they don’t know who to trust,” Pinnock said. “We believe in being honest, speaking with transparency, and serving with integrity from the beginning.”

And even when a home is done and the keys are delivered to the home owner(s), America’s Home Place stands by its work. Pinnock told the story of how one home built in Galveston — for the Disaster Recovery Gov’t Program— started having problems years after it was complete. America’s Home Place inspected the home, determined the cause, and fixed the problem at no cost to the owner.

If you are in the market for a new home and have land or access to land you want to build on, Pinnock invites you to visit the new America’s Home Place office on Highway 35 in the new shopping center next to Kelly’s Restaurant.

“Come out and see us,” he said. “Discuss your vision and we’ll work together to design the right home for your family to cherish and to create new memories!

What potential customers will find is a company that puts the needs of its customers first while offering an extremely high quality product.

America’s Home Place is a home construction company that you can trust with your family’s dreams for a custom home. Their philosophy of “principle over profit” has been the foundation for their culture and growth for over 46 years. With their passion for building and a commitment to families, they are ready to serve the Alvin and surrounding communities with service that is second to none!

Can’t Change God’s Mind…….PERIOD!!

REST….RELAX….

Rest your mind today and remember the battle belongs to the Lord! So stop worrying and start praising; honor and glory belongs to the Lord and more importantly you belong to Him. It doesn’t matter how far I look back into history; I have yet to see a problem God didn’t solve! Psalm 50:15 says, “And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”

Peacemakers Stand Up!

How many of you find it difficult to be peacemakers?? Well, Jesus said in Matt 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” The Greek word for peace is Eirene (i-ray’-nay ) and it means security, safety, prosperity, felicity, (because peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous). So, if your an impulsive person that like to keep the pot stirred unnecessarily chances are you might miss the opportunity to see God move in your life! The Msg Bible paraphrased Hebrews 12:14 in these word, “Work at getting along with each other and with God. Otherwise you’ll never get so much as a glimpse of God. Make sure no one gets left out of God’s generosity. Keep a sharp eye out for weeds of bitter discontent. A thistle or two gone to seed can ruin a whole garden in no time. Watch out for the Esau syndrome: trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite. You well know how Esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted God’s blessing—but by then it was too late, tears or no tears.” In our fallen world, peace is not an easy thing to achieve however, it can be done and our greatest example is Jesus! Despite what we did and what we continue to do to him; he still died on the cross to bring peace between God and man!
