ABC’s of Salvation

How did God do it!! How did He save us from going straight to Hell?? Eugene Peterson author of the Message Bible paraphrased the answer in 2 Corinthians 5:21,”How you ask? Well, in Christ [and Christ Only]. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God.” Jesus was the propitiation aka Atoning Sacrifice for EVERY SIN and not only my sins, but also for those of the whole world (I John 2:2)!! You see, you can ‘buy-in’ to this membership! Heaven is not a club or a time share. However, it’s very real, it’s our final destination, and the only way to obtain your “FREE” boarding pass is to say, “YES” to Christ (Ephesians 2:8).

If that’s you and if God’s spirit has been pulling at your heart strings “PLEASE” say this simple prayer:

Father God, stir up the beat in my heart today. I invite Jesus to become the Lord, and Master, of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me serve you in obedience, to serve my brothers/sisters selflessly, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen and amen!

ANGER BOOMERANGS!

How do boomerangs return to the thrower? Well, returning boomerangs have a special curved that will spin to create ‘unbalanced’ aerodynamic forces. These forces causes the boomerang’s path to curve in an elliptical shape, so that it will return to the thrower. Metaphorically look at ‘unbalanced’ or ‘uncontrolled’ anger as being a boomerang and check out how the Message Bible paraphrased Ecclesiastes 7:9, “Don’t be quick to fly off the handle. Anger boomerangs. You can spot a fool by the lumps on his head.” (LMBO)

Ok, I get it— anger is a legitimately programmed emotion. However and moreover, the Bible is intrinsically clear that we shouldn’t sin in our anger (Ephesian 4:26). Now, I don’t know what or who provokes you to throw your ‘boomarang’ but if God who is slow to anger can abound in unfailing love (Psalm 103:8), why can’t you…..? Besides, He is 100% perfect in all of His ways and yet He chooses to temper His anger towards us 100% imperfect people! When we refuse to surrender our anger we only open doors for the devil to wreak havoc in our hearts and relationships (Psalm 37:8)! You see, anger does not resolve conflict, but incites conflict— and multiplies it. James writes, “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God”(James 1:19–20) and I’ll add—but it will put lumps of your head!!

Exquisite Love♥️💯♥️

You are loved with a special kind of unconditional love; an unconditional love that is extraordinarily peculiar and exquisitely unique. You see, the highest form of unconditional love translated in the greek and that poured out of Jesus’ body for the reconciliation and forgiveness of all humanity is called AGAPE. This form of love literally characterizes who God is (selfless) and it’s not a sappy, sentimental expression that is often heard portrayed. God loves because that is His nature and the expression of His being; God is love” (1 John 4:8). God does not merely extend love; He is love itself. Everything God does flows from His love. The QOTD is; are we deserving recipients?

Well, the Bible says we are the undeserving recipients of His lavish agape love (1 John 3:1). Mainly because Agape love does not come naturally to us due to our fallen nature, we are incapable of producing such a love. If we are to love as God loves, that love—that agape—can only come from its Source. God chooses to love us unconditional and as such we should choose to extend unconditional love to others!!!

Limitless Favor……

Who doesn’t want the ‘Favor’ of God over their lives?! You see, when God releases His Favor; He is pouring out limitless provisions and all inclusive restoration to those that can hear and obey… The favor of God is unlike anything we can imagine. Every part of your life is impacted by the grace and favor of God. God’s favor places people at the right location, at the right time, and it will get the ears of kings and even use the mouth of someone you would not expect. It will connect people and opportunities at just the exact moment. Here are a couple of truths: God’s favor affects every area of your lives (Ephesians 2:7) and God’s favor surrounds you continually (Psalm 5:12). Having said all that, before you can receive the benefits of God’s favor, you must know that they are yours. Just as with every other spiritual benefit/gift, you must receive them by faith. If you desire to have God’s favor evident in your life, then begin to study and contemplate these truths. Understand that God’s favor—His grace—was available to you even before you were His (accepted Jesus Christ). And now, since you are a child of God, His favor toward you has grown. So how do you get it??? First you must humble your hearts before Him (2 Kings 22:19); seek Him for Himself, not just for the blessings He gives (Jeremiah 29:13) and then as I mentioned, accept it by faith. Finding favor with the Lord keeps our lives and thoughts pure because we desire to please Him more than we desire to please ourselves.

We Fight From Victory!

Satan’s four common tactics are deception, division, diversion, and discouragement. He uses these tactics because he knows that a divided house will eventually fall. According to Mark 3:25, “And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.” Rick Warren said, “How does the devil operate? He doesn’t stand around with a pitchfork and a red suit, like Underwood deviled ham. He plays on our pride — particularly wounded pride. He tells us what we want to hear. He whispers in our ear and gives us little thoughts, suggestions, and ideas. When you’re in the middle of an argument, he starts whispering things in your ear, like “You don’t have to take this kind of stuff. Retaliate. Who do they think they are? Get even. Assert yourself. Don’t put up with this kind of stuff. Show ‘em who’s boss.” He tells you all the things your pride would love to hear.” In this in spiritual battle we must identify the real enemy! We are not fighting flesh and blood rather the father of lies and the author of pride. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Each of us have fallen victim to one or more of the enemy’s plots and schemes at one point but we don’t have continue to allow him to wreck havoc in our lives! You see, God doesn’t want us to be ignorant to the Devil’s devices that he uses to seek to entrap us. Remember that God is for us. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in this world (1John 4:4) Yes, God is with us and the enemy does not have the final say over over our lives. God fights for us, even in times we’re unaware. He’s always working on our behalf, often behind the scenes where we cannot see. Thankfully, we fight from the position of victory because the enemy through God’s divinity was defeated at the drop of Jesus’ blood some 2,000 years ago!!! Amen and amen and amen!!

BRAND NEW MERCY!!

I’ve heard my parents say and as a parent I’ve said to my children, “There is nothing new under the sun!” In most cases, this axiom is said to reveal an understanding of adolescent behavior and/or recycled trends. The truth of the matter is the only thing that is forever new is God’s LOVE and MERCY Jeremiah, the weeping prophet cemented this spiritual truth in Lamentations 3:22-23, “The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” God is with us through Christ and, by the Spirit, his promises for new mercies are as real and trustworthy today as they were yesterday. So, if you desire to experience everyday freshness and newness go to the word of God in prayer each day, and ask him to help you see wonders and promises that make your heart sing. Ask Jesus to show you more of himself, and plead with him for the new and unique grace you need today and in the days to come! Yes….GREAT IS GOD’s FAITHFULNESS!!

Expendable??

How many of you successful executive professionals are making tremendous strides at the workplace but are failing miserably at the home place?? If this day was dubbed transparent Friday, I believe that I would be unfortunately overwhelmed with many men and women that are failing miserably at the greatest investment that will outlast any career endeavor. This is not a finger pointing post rather it’s a clarion call (if this applies to you) to evaluate your priorities. Achieving public success while fostering a broken family is not good business! I don’t care what position you hold; we are all expendable (ask John Schnatter)! It makes absolutely no sense to gain the whole world and forfeit the relationships that truly matters the most! There are some folks that will travel around the globe helping, coaching, and supporting strangers but won’t spend 5 minutes with their husband, wife, son, and daughter investing, pouring, and enriching their lives. If this message is hitting home just know it’s not too late to make change! Here is my point, put your family first. Give them the best, not what is left over.

The Power Of Your Testimony!!

Your testimony is an apparatus that God uses to reach lost sheep! In other words, when shared at the right time with the right person, the test you endured and overcame through God unfailing providence can help to open the eyes of an unbeliever’s heart. You see, no one can argue the power of your testimony, and you don’t need to be a theologian to share it. I love the story in John 9 of the man born blind who was healed on the Sabbath. When called before the Pharisees to explain his healing, his response was both simple and profound—“One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” You do not need to understand God’s power—it is enough to “see” Him, believe, and worship. May the Lord bless you and cause your testimony to explode as you have opportunity to share it!

Praise Is Your Weapon To Win!

If you are breathing right now and can read this text I want you to do me a favor (in a little bit) and it doesn’t matter who you are nor what you are going through. We don’t win spiritual battles with carnal weapons. We have an enemy–Satan and the spiritual forces of darkness that stand in opposition to God and his people. We can’t win that battle by fighting on his terms. God gives us a different set of weapons to use. Prayer. Testimony. Praise. Worship. The Word of God, and the precious blood of Jesus by which we have already won the victory. We can’t win our battles the world’s way. We win through following God’s battle plan; by living out radical praise and worship. The favor I asked earlier is for you to simply read and live out Psalm 150:6,”Let everything that has breath praise [worship] the Lord.” Lastly, remember that our God has already given you victory–a victory won not in battle but on a cross. Stand in obedience on the truth of His word. Bathe your battle in prayer, praise, and worship. Then open your eyes and look to see what God will do and has done, for He who promised…. is faithful.

Stay bless on purpose!!
