LORD, NEVER LET ME FORGET
Beloved, one of the most dangerous things success can do is make us forget where God brought us from. We pray for elevation, opportunity, increase, influence, and open doors—but the higher God allows us to go, the more important it becomes to remember who carried us there.
So this is my prayer:
“Lord, no matter how high I go, never let me forget how low I once was.”
Deuteronomy 8:11 warns, “Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God.” Moses was speaking to people who were about to enter a season of blessing. God knew prosperity could make them forget the wilderness, forget the provision, and eventually forget the Provider.
That warning still matters.
Never become so successful that you stop being grateful. Never become so comfortable that you forget the nights you cried. Never become so respected that you forget the seasons when nobody knew your name. Never become so strong that you forget the days God had to carry you.
1 Corinthians 15:10 says, “But by the grace of God I am what I am.”
That keeps us humble.
Yes, work hard. Yes, grow. Yes, become everything God has called you to become. But when the doors open and the blessings increase, don’t start acting like you got there by yourself.
Remember the prayers, the mistakes, the mercy, the grace, the people God used, and most importantly, remember the God who never gave up on you.
Beloved, humility doesn’t mean denying how far you’ve come. It means recognizing Who brought you that far.
Pray with me: Father God, if You elevate me, keep me humble. If You increase me, keep me grateful. No matter how high I go, never let me forget how low I once was or how faithfully You carried me. Let every blessing become another reason to give You glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray, believe, receive, and praise in advance. Amen.
