Content?!

“I’m glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess—happy that you’re again showing such strong concern for me. Not that you ever quit praying and thinking about me. You just had no chance to show it. Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. I don’t mean that your help didn’t mean a lot to me—it did. It was a beautiful thing that you came alongside me in my troubles.”

Following God’s Lead

Did you notice after Pharaoh agreed to let the children of Israel go that they didn’t determine their own exit route? Why? Well, God knew the people most likely would have chosen the shortest route aka the shortcut which would have led them str8 into enemy territory. God also knew they didn’t have the strength mentally nor physically to stand up against the likes of the Philistine regime (Exodus 13:17-21). What was not optional for them is now optional to us. How many times have we taken shortcuts only to double back and start over! I use to think God placed more on me than I can bear so that I learned to understand that it was Him that brought me through. Although this is very true, I also understand the difference between free will versus God’s will! Let’s be honest and shame the devil; how many of us would have chosen the shortest route to the land flowing with milk and honey? I am talking about the home in Sweetwater baby! Modern world shortcuts are usually a temptation to cut the corner financially, ethically or morally. However what you are really saying is, ‘God, I think I can reach my goal a whole lot quicker my way than your way.’ Matthew 7:13 in the MSG says, “Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do.” Bottom line, had the children of Israel taken the shortcut not only would they not have made it to the house built in Sweetwater, they would have lost everything including their lives!! At the end of the day, don’t take an ‘L’ because you think your way is better! Shortcuts are always short-sighted. They distract you from getting where you need to go and from what God wants you to do in your life.

Don’t Love Like The World!

“Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.”

Repent!

Father God, we all fall short of your glory and unfortunately you know this all too well! Therefore, today we want to make it right with you. Father God, please forgive us for our sins, transgressions, and iniquities. O’God your word in 2 Chronicle 7:14 says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Father God, it was confirmed in your word written I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Lord Jesus thank you for not abandoning your mission to pay our sin debt in full. It’s because of You that we stand on the words written in Hebrew 8:12,”For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you again Lord Jesus through the conviction of the Holy Spirit we repent and turn our lives back to you! We ca never undo what Christ has done in reconciling us back to You O’God in Jesus name we ask these things; amen and amen!

👀Unknown Future👀

Father God, there is always uncertainty in tomorrow and not to mention the uncertainty that piggybacks at the dawn of a new year. Although our minds will vacillate between the known and unknown we still strive today as though tomorrow is promised. Your word decrees that today has enough of its own and we should depend upon You and You alone as to what we shall eat and wear. Lord Jesus, clothe us with Your love today and feed us with Your word so that as we sojourn throughout today we shall not suffer lack in any thing we do, say, or strive for in our endeavors. O’God, we stand grateful, faithful, and hopeful in Your touch and blessing. Therefore, we choose to focus on the only thing that is truly certain in life and that is Your word will never return void and that Your promises are always ‘YES’ & ‘AMEN’! Holy Spirit thank You for moving in and through every aspect of our lives; in Jesus’ precious and forever righteous name…amen!

Prayer For Healing

Father God, you are the master of life and death. Everything I have is yours, and I love you very deeply. Just one touch from you restores the sick, heals the broken, and transforms the darkness. Only you can do this! Therefore, I ask that you would be Touch every soul that reads this prayer right now. May they sense Your divine presence and feel Your power.

Lord Jesus, may they know Your love and their body be overwhelmed with light, truth,

healing, and wellness! Father God, just as it was in the beginning as You first intended us to be restored physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Thank you O’ God that You hear my prayers, that You have overcome the world,

and that You hold all of heaven and earth in Your loving hands. And that you have given us the promise of eternity in our hearts forever. Father God, no matter the season of difficulty we endure we are reminded by way of Your Holy Spirit that You are still God and You are still in control! Father Thank you, in Jesus’ healing name, amen and amen!

Merry XMas!

It’s has been circulating for years that putting an “X” in your Merry Christmas is taboo and disrespectful. Well, I learned something new today as I try to do everyday. The late and greatest apologist R.C. Sproul observed on 12/11/17, 3 days following his death: “X can mean so many things. For example, when we want to denote an unknown quantity, we use the symbol X. It can refer to an obscene level of films, something that is X-rated. People seem to express chagrin about seeing Christ’s name dropped and replaced by this symbol for an unknown quantity X. Every year you see the signs and the bumper stickers saying, “Put Christ back into Christmas” as a response to this substitution of the letter X for the name of Christ.

First of all, you have to understand that it is not the letter X that is put into Christmas. We see the English letter X there, but actually what it involves is the first letter of the Greek name for Christ. Christos is the New Testament Greek for Christ. The first letter of the Greek word Christos is transliterated into our alphabet as an X. That X has come through church history to be a shorthand symbol for the name of Christ.

We don’t see people protesting the use of the Greek letter theta, which is an O with a line across the middle. We use that as a shorthand abbreviation for God because it is the first letter of the word Theos, the Greek word for God.

The idea of X as an abbreviation for the name of Christ came into use in our culture with no intent to show any disrespect for Jesus. The church has used the symbol of the fish historically because it is an acronym. Fish in Greek (ichthus) involved the use of the first letters for the Greek phrase “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior.” So the early Christians would take the first letter of those words and put those letters together to spell the Greek word for fish. That’s how the symbol of the fish became the universal symbol of Christendom.

There’s a long and sacred history of the use of X to symbolize the name of Christ, and from its origin, it has meant no disrespect.”

Merry Christmas family!

❤️Peace❤️

Father God, we at times allow the stuff in our lives to frazzle and shake our spirits. Mainly because our hands/plates are full and our minds are reeling with all the things we have to do. Lord Jesus, please help us to accomplish all that needs to get done each day and to find rest. As we work, help us to be productive and not destructive; peace-filled and not stress-filled. As we continue to love others, help us to be calm and encouraging. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 reminds us the Lord of peace Himself give us peace at all times and in every situation. Holy Spirit, we need this kinda peace in every area of our life today and we thank you in advance for pouring out this kinda peace in and through our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Point People To Christ!

I didn’t know that Charles Spurgeon the renown Baptist Preacher from London had a love-hate relationship about the celebration of Christmas. In his sermon preached on 12/24/1854 called, “The Birth of Christ” he said, “Now a happy Christmas to you all; and it will be a happy Christmas if you have God with you. I shall say nothing today against festivities on this great birthday of Christ.” But 17 years later he had a change of heart. He said, “WE HAVE NO superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas: first, because we do not believe in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be said or sung in Latin or in English; and, secondly, because we find no Scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Saviour; and, consequently, its observance is a superstition, because not of divine authority. Superstition has fixed most positively the day of our Saviour’s birth, although there is no possibility of discovering when it occurred.” Jordan Standridge wrote, “Spurgeon was no Buddy-the-Elf when it came to Christmas, in fact, he resembled the Grinch more, but no one can deny that he loved the opportunity Christmas created to exalt and point people to Jesus Christ.” Let us all opt to make this Christmas a celebration to Christ and not ourselves by pointing our family and friends not only to the manger but to the cross because when we recognize His birth, we must also recognize His death, burial, and resurrection!
