#IAM Worship

If you are going through a rough patch this season, worship! Still displaced due to the Harvey floods, worship! If you are experiencing marital issues, worship! If your boss or employees are trippin, worship! If you have more liabilities than assets, worship! If your children and adult children lost their minds, worship! If you are in between jobs, worship! If you have been diagnosis with an illness, worship! If you are struggling with any form of addiction, worship! Psalm 22:3 guarantees us that our God who is Holy and righteous inhabits or worship and where there is the Spirit Lord; there exist freedom and liberty (2 Cor 3:17). REPEAT AFTER ME: I AM WORSHIP! WORSHIP IS WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO!!

Thy Will Be Done

We must learn to trust in God’s will, so that we can accept God’s no! Jesus prayed to God 3 times saying, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”(Matthew 26:42). Jesus’ cry for relief wasn’t greater than God’s plan. You see, Jesus knew His Father well enough to understand that it might not be His will to remove the cup. So the story does not end with the words, “And the Father repented of the evil He had planned, removed the cup, and Jesus lived happily ever after.” The “cup” aka God’s will was non-negotiable! With sweat like blood Jesus earnestly sought to understand The Father’s will. Though the text is not explicit, it is clear that Jesus left the garden with the Father’s answer to His plea and it was Jesus’ response that led Him to the cross on Calvary!

When God Says Go!

Alas, the Pharaoh finally agrees to release God’s people from bondage in Exodus 12:31. But look at what He requested in V.32; “….Go and bless me too!!” Watch this, Moses never responded to his request. Why? Perhaps in past confrontations the Pharaoh showed no remorse for God’s commands more less His people. Moses told Pharaoh what would happen, and undoubtedly, as night follows day, the plagues came just as Moses said. I don’t know why Moses refrained from answering the Pharaoh but I do know that under the circumstances Moses’ silence helps me understand when God is silent in my life. Let’s be honest like Pharaoh we are some hard headed, stubborn, prideful, and arrogant people! Oftentimes, we don’t move until we want to move or change until we are forced to change! God ain’t no joke! When He says, “Move”-that means move and move quickly! On earth, I am learning everyday to become more humble and responsive to God’s call in my life because at the end of my life, I certainly don’t want God to be silent standing before Him in heaven! I want to hear those 11 words; Well done good and faithful servant, you can come on in!

Seeds of Faith

Faith is the seed we sow: good works are the rain that fertilizes it; wisdom and modesty are our ploughs; our minds are the guiding-rein; we lay hold of the handle of grace; earnestness is the goad we use, and exertion is our draught-ox. This ploughing is ploughed to destroy the weeds of fear, unbelief, and discouragement. Then in due season love, victory, and freedom is the harvest we yield because we chose to sow seeds of faith!

BOASTING IN WEAKNESS!

Despite the challenges, continue striving to be the best you can be in life! Yes, we all face ominous obstacles on a day-to-day basis and it’s easy to throw your hands up and say, “Forget it!” But look at our present problems compared to what Paul had to deal with back-in-the day! In 2 Cor 11:25-28 He said, “Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea.  I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. Now, let’s admit we would have checked out after v25! In context Paul was making a comparison about boasting in the flesh versus boasting in weakness. You see in v30 he revealed the better option! He said, “If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.” So, in lieu of throwing your hands up in indignation try throwing your hands up and give God the praise He rightfully deserves! We can take pleasure in our weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that we suffer for Christ. For when we are weak, then We are strong (2 Cor 12:10).

Prayer!!

Father God, we need you more today than we did yesterday. Help us O’God to lean on You for everything! We have tried to do things on our own and time and time again we have failed! Therefore, we humbly submit ourselves to You O’God and we stand in agreement with you that we have sin and fallen short of Your glory! However, we stand on Your word in I John 1:9 that You are faithful and just not only to forgive us our sins but to also cleanse us from all wickedness. Holy Spirit, we ask that You move in our lives by leading, developing, and maturing us into the image of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Father God, as you know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and devour us but You desire to give us life and life more abundant. We receive Your promises today in our lives and we thank you for loving us with a love that so strong that You would die to save us. Help us not only to know You but to also grow in You. Our purpose in life Father is to make it to heaven and to take as many people with us by allowing Your light to shine in our lives. We choose You today O’God and we thank You for all that You are and for what You continue to do! In Jesus’ matchless and life preserving name, amen and amen!

GOD LOVE IS AMAZING!

How much does God love us? Well, check out Isaiah 43:2 from the Message Bible translation. “But now, GOD ’s Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob, the One who got you started, Israel: “Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am GOD, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in! That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.” Welp, whoop there it is! God’s Love for us is greater than we could every image or fathom and all I can do in response to His love for me, is to love Him with all I got and love my neighbor as I do myself!

GOD GOT U!

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Feel Inadequate?

Don’t allow your inadequacies to assassinate your peace. We’ve all heard it said, “What the enemy meant for evil, God meant it for good” (Gen 50:15-21). Truth be known, our inadequacies helps us to identity opportunities in our life to trust God More with our life! Paul’s greatest legacy was his utter dependence on God to be his “strength in weakness.” He believed with every bone in his body that the effectiveness of his ministry (preaching the gospel) depended on God’s power, not his own (2 Cor 12:9).The amazing truth is that God is enough. He uses our less-than-perfect talents and our inadequate abilities to advance His kingdom work. Therefore, we should be filled with confidence knowing that the Lord is with us and working through us. So when you begin to feel the fear of inadequacy creeping up, take a moment to pray and ask God to show Himself to be enough in your situation. After all, God equips those whom He has called (Heb 13:21). And He does it all regardless of our perceived inadequacies.

LOVE>FEAR

What are the differences between love and fear? Great question! Well, I have heard it said that love responds- fear reacts. Love connects- fear separates. Love uplifts- fear deflates. Love creates- fear destroys. Essentially, when we are afraid we have the tendency to become closed-minded and apply the brakes in our lives. In contrast, when we are in love, we are open to all that life have to offer; our foot is on the gas pedal! I John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Therefore, if there is no fear in love and fear is a spirit not bequeathed by God, the choice is obvious. So today, allow the inner Truth and Light (Jesus) to guide you and don’t allow fear (Satan, the world, and your flesh) to paralyze you and keep you in darkness?
