Life is Short!

We all have in the past and some in the present have taken life for granted. Mainly because we all have a tendency to focus on the material, temporary things in life and neglect the relational and eternal. You see, none of us knows the number of days God has planned for us. Here’s my point…don’t put off until tomorrow the really important things you can do today. Show your family how much you love them today!! Surprise them by occasionally coming home early. Tell them you love them. Plan fun things to do with them. Say thank you to those who help you and were there for you when you needed them. Help someone you care about–someone who needs you at the office, in the neighborhood, or maybe someone who needs a friend. I Timothy 4:8 says, “…godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

RUN TO GOD🏃🏾‍♂️

Where is God when I need Him? Well, the real question is where are you when you need God? Often times when we are experience difficulties of various kind, we have tendency to run in the opposite direction; away from God. We get caught up in our feelings real quick and then have the audacity to question God and His level of commitment to us in our situations. God’s phone number nor His address haven’t change since day one! Trying, difficult, and tormenting circumstances are mechanisms God uses to grapple our attention. C.S. Lewis wrote, “God whispers to us in our pleasure, but he shouts to us in our pain.” Pain is God’s megaphone. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that despite our troubles that He is not only our solution, He is also very present. David said, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” So stop running away from God and run to God. One thing is true, God has never used a change of address card!

Praise, Glory and Honor!

Father God, you deserve the glory and the honor! We lift our hands in worship and we praise your holy name. Father, there is no one like you, there is no one before you, and nor will there be anyone after you. You are the first and the last! You are the beginning and the end! You are all powerful, all merciful, and all gracious. You sit in yesterday, today, and tomorrow all at the same time. Your wisdom far surpasses human comprehension! You set in order the ways of ants to the shifting of galaxies known and unknown. Father, we bless and we thank you for EVERYTHING. You have been so good to us and if the truth be known; we haven’t been so good to you! Forgive us O’God of our sins, transgressions, and iniquities. There is no way we can stand before you in our sin soaked vessels, therefore through Christ’s sacrifice i/l/o blotting our names out of the book of life, you blotted out our sins for your own sake and you chose never to think of them again. How grateful are we O’God to stand blameless in the presence of a holy and righteous God! Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you! We can never repay you for what you do EVERYDAY in and through our lives. We are forever indebted to the One who paid our sin debt in full. What a God, what a God, what a God; in Jesus’ name, amen!

SILENT=LISTEN

When God seems silent doesn’t mean He is absent. God’s silence is how it feels, it’s not how it is. God is always actively moving, orchestrating, and weaving the affairs of our lives. Nearly everyone throughout biblical history has experience God’s silence but never was He not present. So recognize that you are not alone in the stillness. In fact, you are in good company. A right biblical framework will cause you to think rightly about your experiences. When you realize that Abraham, Joseph, and many of the great prophets all persevered and were eventually promoted through God’s silence, we remember we are not alone.

Seek God First!

Don’t rush in making a decision. Always seek God’s wisdom before you move to action. Jesus said Matthew 6:33, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Solomon said in Proverbs 4:7, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” We must remember that God understands all things and God’s perception and perspective of all situations and circumstances is always very clear before Him. Beloved of God, there is nothing that can hide or is hidden before God. God’s wisdom leads to fulfillment and is without error. According to Proverbs 24:14, if you find wisdom, “there will be a future and your hope will not be cut off”. Therefore, acquiring wisdom is very important for one to have proper direction in life and in order to make good decisions.

You Are Loved!

Trust God with everything today. Know that He loves you unconditionally and He will never turn His back on you! It doesn’t matter how many times the enemy, this world, and your flesh tells you otherwise. God’s loves you because He is love (1 John 4:8). The greatest expression of God’s love is communicated to us in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Romans 5:8 proclaims the same message: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” We can see from these verses that it is God’s greatest desire that we join Him in His eternal home, heaven. He has made the way possible by paying the price for our sins. He loves you because He chose to as an act of His will, plan and purpose!

Spiritual Unity

Romans 15:5-6, “That’s exactly what Jesus did. He didn’t make it easy for himself by avoiding people’s troubles, but waded right in and helped out. “I took on the troubles of the troubled,” is the way Scripture puts it. Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can be sure it’s written for us. God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next. May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all. Then we’ll be a choir—not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus!”

He is mines and I am His!

It is imperative that we do not fall into the trap of grumbling against God during trials and storms we endure throughout life. It’s important to bear in mind that God uses these circumstances to strengthen our faith and develop our character. It behooves us to trust in Christ completely by reminding ourselves that He is sovereign and in control over all things. When I am faced with a storm, I like to say, “He is mine and I am His!” This helps to remind me that no matter what the circumstances are that I am His child and He will always see me through! I know, it’s easier said than done but in Christ’s strength all things are made possible to those who believe!

The Game Changer!

God shows us both but there is a distinct difference between Mercy and Grace. Mercy withholds a punishment we deserve; grace gives a blessing we don’t deserve. In mercy, God chose to cancel our sin debt by sacrificing His perfect Son in our place (Titus 3:5; 2 Cor 5:21). But He goes even further than mercy and extends grace to His enemies (Romans 5:10). He offers us forgiveness (Heb 8:12; Ephesians 1:7), reconciliation (Col1:19-20), abundant life (John 10:10), eternal treasure (Luke 12:33), His Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13), and a place in heaven with Him some day (John 3:16-18) when we accept His offer and place our faith in His sacrifice. Mercy is one thing but grace is God giving the greatest treasure to the least deserving—which is every one of us!

Prayer of Power!

Father God, much like Esther, we have been positioned, promoted, protected, and preserved for such a time so we can be blessing to everyone that we encounter. Sometimes we are a bit delayed in our response to humanity’s needs because of external forces that seek to derail the purest of our intentions. Lord Jesus, as You know, we are a flawed people and live in a land that doesn’t unilaterally support what is right and noble but no matter the public opinion of others, we will continue to work the harvest fields appointed to us with fierce and relentless sense of urgency. Holy Spirit, we are here for such a time as this to be used as instruments of your perfect will and subscribe to the premise and promise that we are nothing apart from You but with You O God, we can do all things and we stand in agreement…in Jesus’ name, the one who became flesh, dwelt amongst us, died on a rugged cross, and walked out of a borrowed tomb; amen and amen!
